Nervous Chap
This was a study in stylized 3d character acting and substance painter texturing. My goal for the motion was to limit exaggerated key poses and instead focus on the anxious details. Design-wise I wanted to keep the shape language boxy and graphic to contrast the intricate textural details.
Since this character’s movement is minimal I decided to forego the traditional rigging process and instead use deformers such as shear and pose morphs linked up to a single xpresso controller. This kept both rigging and animation a relative breeze.
